I have been an exhibiting artist with the Portland Art Museum Rental/Sales Gallery for 51 years and I still find their two openings a year exciting events.
I always try to submit my most recent paintings to their jury and hope that the maximum number (two) are selected. This year my submissions were paintings of spring, summer and winter themes and both paintings above were the ones selected.
The jury also selected 210 other artworks for the show, and as usual in recent years have made the fall show into a costume party since it is so close to Halloween. In past years the costumes have rivaled the art in creativity and it is always a popular event.
The opening will be Oct. 27 between 5 and 8 p.m. The gallery is located at 1237 SW. 10th Ave.
